Adventure boating at its best.
The TAURANGA 38 defines hardcore luxury boating. Built to the typical high standard of all Protector models, this boat will get you where you need to be safely, comfortably and quickly – no matter what Mother Nature has to throw at you.
Untouched handling and stability are the defining features of this boat, the new Hydro V hull that extends the V the length of the hull does its job to cut through the waves and the balance from the bestial 350’s (up to 3 of them) gets you where you need to go in style.
"such a unique craft"
‘The Tauranga 38, is such a unique craft that even the most avant-garde boaters among us will do a double-take when they see one at the dock.’
With a capacity of 15, the Protector Tauranga 38 is as easily at home ferrying a crew from a TP52 or Maxi 72 program as it is cruising the Chesapeake. With the open areas on deck there is room for whatever is needed, and down below you will find a fully enclosed marine head and standing headroom throughout.
Choose from black, blue, white, yellow, gray, or red UV/petroleum-resistant Hypalon tubes as standard and a swim platform and stainless steel ladder make taking a dip in the bay a breeze.
Go anywhere, fast.
The perfect boat for expeditions into the unknown, the Protector Boats TAURANGA 38 has a 250 gallon stainless steel fuel tank, more than enough to get the you to where you need to go and back. Stand out from the crowd of white center consoles with this awesome machine, there is nothing that compares on the water!
Precision-engineered hull construction.
Trusted by Search and Rescue.
The precision-engineered hull construction of each Protector model fills the Captain with confidence to go anywhere in safety and comfort. Each hull is solid hand-laid fiberglass using 24-ounce roven woving layers, building up until the hull is three-quarters-of-an-inch thick on the sides and one-and-a-half-inches thick at the keel.
This approach uses proven and reliable construction techniques, and Protector has had no hull failures since its first hull was produced in 1999. The rugged hull is surrounded by an inflatable Hypalon collar with seven baffled air chambers, this provides a suspension like effect, absorbing energy and reducing the feel of pounding into the waves. Go ahead. Go anywhere.
